It's been a while...
Now, it has been a while since my last post. At the moment I am writing an article about how Eastern-european women living in transnational marriages are represented in Norwegian media. It is fair to say that this, together with my job takes more than it's fair share of my time. Hence no postings.
One of the headlines in Norwegian tabloids last week was about a Georgian woman, newly wed to a Norwegian man, waiting for her visa, was attempted kidnapped for ransome in the Gali-region. The article said that the attempt was made because the kidnappers knew she was wed to a forreigner. But a quick search for articles on the internet soon revealed that kidnappings happens from time to time in Gali-region, and probably don't have anything to do with her marital status. Still it stirs up headlines calling for people to be careful when going to Georgia.

They should be MUCH more concerned about tha hazards involved with meeting the average Georgian drivers on the road. :-)
